REFLECTION

Course Reflection

The assignments associated with this year-long capstone were extremely helpful in expanding my comprehension of systems involved in a building. Coupling this with both structural and mechanical investigations allowed for the design of alternative systems, in which that ability will prove to be beneficial as I continue my career outside of Penn State. This project required use of technical and communication skills in combination with a high aptitude of problem solving ability which has been taught over the past 5 years, to allow for students to be truly prepared for the years to come.

CPEP Reflection

The CPEP website was a great tool for the content of this capstone to be effectively communicated with faculty, peers and the construction industry as a whole. It was fun and relatively easy to maintain, and does not require any pre-existing knowledge of website manufacturing.

Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Alec Stouffer. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
